Zlín dog

The international Zlín Dog competition will present the best international student works in the categories of animation, feature film, documentary and new forms. These student works from all over the world will then be evaluated by a three-member expert jury.

About the competition
In 2013, the organizers of the International Film Festival in Zlín have decided to revive the idea of Zlín Dog, which, in the past, had been a successful independent student festival organized by Film School Zlín. Unfortunately, along with the demise of Film School Zlín, the festival disappeared as well. It is for this reason that the Zlín Film Festival has decided to bring back the festival as part of a completely new competitive film section focused on student films.

Awards and benefits for submitted films
A best film will be awarded in each category and there will also be chosen an absolute winner - the TOP movie of Zlín Dog, whose author will be awarded a prize of 1000 euros. In addition, delegations of the filmmakers of the chosen films might be invited and a synopsis of the films will be published in the festival catalogue.

Registration conditions of the competition
Both students and graduates of film schools can enter their films to the competition. The condition, however, is that the film must have been made while its creator was still studying. Only those films that were made after January 2012 can be entered. The festival's rules and on-line application form are available at the festival's website: www.zlinfest.cz.
Student films included in the Zlín Dog competition are accepted in the format Quicktime H.264 HD that can be uploaded at the online application.
