The bears bring up the boy as their own and he learns how to live like a bear. But the woman despairs over the loss of her child and the man hunts down the bear family and brings the boy home. The boy faces the choice of becoming a boy again or learning on his own how to be a bear.

This film is set in the early 1960s and revolves around Jonas and Agnete - young high school sweethearts. The focus of the film is the relationship between the youngsters and their stories of friendship, school and family tragedies. Three years of high school provide them with many trials and tests. Jonas fails to give Agnete enough attention, but when Agnete decides to start a new romance, Jonas feels the cold stab of jealousy. Their unstable relationship takes Jonas through all the emotions a young teenager goes through when having their first broken heart.

Karsten is given a weekend furlough from prison. In the morning after a party - suffering a strong hangover - a woman comes to visit him letting him know that they have a 12-year-old daughter together named Louise, whose existence he had no idea about. He definitely hadn't counted on being a father. Nonetheless, together with his schizophrenic buddy Peter, he decides to meet his daughter. After spending time together, Louise doesn't want to return to her other father, who beats her, and Karsten doesn't quite like the prospect returning to prison. The three of them find themselves in a car heading out, with the aid of credit cards from a German citizen, for northern Sweden to a girl friend of both men, who went there for work. Their actions attract the attention of the locals, as well as from an ever increasing group of police officers.

A celebration is being prepared in a large lonely house. Helger Klingenfeldt, the patriarch of the family, is celebrating his sixtieth birthday. Slowly the guests begin to arrive - friends, relatives and, of course, the celebrant's closest: wife Elsa and the three adult offspring Christian, Michael and Helena. All is ready, the guests sit at the table. Nobody knows what will happen next when Christian rises to give a speech. Soon everyone realizes that they will never forget this evening and this night.
