Synopsis: This film is set in the early 1960s and revolves around Jonas and Agnete - young high school sweethearts. The focus of the film is the relationship between the youngsters and their stories of friendship, school and family tragedies. Three years of high school provide them with many trials and tests. Jonas fails to give Agnete enough attention, but when Agnete decides to start a new romance, Jonas feels the cold stab of jealousy. Their unstable relationship takes Jonas through all the emotions a young teenager goes through when having their first broken heart.

Nils Malmros: Nils Malmros (1944) is a screenwriter and director and one of the most prominent Danish filmmakers. He studied medicine at Aarhus University, but dedicated his professional life to film - to its realist stream in particular. He made his feature-length film debut with A Strange Romance (En maerkelig kaerlighed, 1968), then gained fame in particular due to his film works Tree of Knowledge (Kundskabens trae, 1981), Pain of Love (Kaerlighedens smerte, 1992) and Facing the Truth (At kende sandheden, 2002).
