Jozef Medveď , Timur Palavandišvili: Jozef Medveď (1927 - 1984) was a Slovak film and TV director. He never completed his studies at FAMU. From directing documentaries, he got into feature films. He shot his first feature-length film, the comedy The Quadrille (Štvorylka, 1955) together with director Karel Krška; he made his independent debut with the romantic drama Review of Love (Previerka lásky, 1956). Among others, he also directed the films Jergus Lapin (Jerguš Lapin, 1960) and Live Water (Živá voda, 1980). He worked primarily, however, making TV productions, e.g., Zypa Cupák (1976). Timur Palavandišvili (1940) is a Georgian screenwriter and director. He studied directing at the Moscow VGIK film school, then worked at the Georgian film studios of Gruzia-Film as a director. He focused in particular on the genres of comedy and melodrama. He has made more than a dozen feature films, among them, e.g., Autumn Sun (Mze shemodgomisa, 1973), Letters from BAM (Tserilebi Bamidan, 1980), Magic Night (Jadosmuri game, 1983) and New Arcadia (Akhali arkadia, 1986).
