Synopsis: A thirteenth summer is a time unlike any other. Everything feels like it's happening for the first time. Even though she looks like everybody else in the town, she feels different enough to suspect she's from another planet. Is it because of her sister who is leaving to study medicine? Or maybe because of the arrival of a flamboyant, eccentric aunt who says things like "Don't let fear stop you from dancing on the Moon"? Then there's Freddy, who she has known all her childhood, but now won't leave her alone. One summer afternoon finds Madeline and Freddy swimming at two different areas of the beach as a storm comes up. Freddy is looking at her as no one has before. But she still doesn't want to become an adolescent. A tragic accident and the help of an eccentric aunt will help her to pass the barrier.

Kit Hood: Kit Hood is a versatile Canadian film and TV filmmaker. He learned the basics of film editing at the studios of Walt Disney and worked in this profession for several years before working in TV productions about children for children. He has shot both successful film and series, e.g., The Kids of Degrassi Street, (1979-1984), Degrassi Junior High (1987-1991) and X-Rated (1993). He made his indepedent debut with the family drama Dancing on the Moon (1997).
