Synopsis: A stop-motion animation film based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen about a proud princess and a prince who disguises himself as a swineherd.
Hermína Týrlová: Hermína Týrlová (1900-1993) was a founding figure in Czech animated film. Her productions are associated with the Zlín Film Studios. She initially cooperated in the making cartoon film advertisements and later significantly applied herself to stop-motion film. Her rich filmography includes: Ferdy the Ant (Ferda Mravenec, 1943), The Revolt of the Toys (Vzpoura hraček, 1945), The Swineherd (Pasáček vepřů, 1958), and The Little Ball (Kulička, 1963).
