Synopsis: Wishing to create a new world where clean lines replace emotions and the polar wind cools human souls, the Snow Queen has blanketed the world in ice. According to the predictions of a magic mirror, the last threat to the Snow Queen comes from the master glass-maker Vegard, whose mirrors reflect not only appearances but also souls. One day the polar wind takes away Vegard and his wife Una. But they manage to hide their baby-boy Kai and daughter Gerda. Time passes, the servant of the Snow Queen finds Gerda's brother Kai, whom he believes to be Vegard's successor. When Kai is abducted to the Snow Queen's palace, Gerda embarks on a journey across the icy wonderland, facing difficult obstacles and finding new friends on her quest to set Kai free, defeat the Snow Queen and warm the hearts of people everywhere.

Maxim Sveshnikov, Vlad Barbe: Maksim Sveshnikov (1985) is a screenwriter and director of Ukrainian origin. His screenplays have been used in the making of many feature animated films. He first forays into film-directing were with Peregrine (??????, 2008) and Three (????, 2010) shot together with Vadim Sveshnikov. He directed The Snow Queen (??????? ????????, 2012) together with Vladlen Barbe. Vladlen Barbe (1960) is a Russian animator, director and producer. He has an education in film. He began as a screenwriter. He has worked in several film production companies and animation studies. From his films we'll mention Pearl Divers (????? ???????, 1990), The Ring of King Sololmon (?????? ???? ????????, 2002), made together with Valerij Pugashkin, Kolobok (???????, 2006), and The Snow Queen (??????? ????????, 2012), which he co-directed with Maksim Sveshnikov.
