Synopsis: Twelve-year old Veysel has been living for six months in Vienna with his family. His father is a Kurd who left home to fight with guerrillas against the Turkish government, while his mother is Turkish. Veysel's older brother has joined a violent street gang in Vienna. Deportation is a threat that always hangs over the family's heads. At school Veysel is ignored by his teachers because he speaks very little German. But three things combine to change the fortunes of Veysel and his family: a Kurdish poem entitled "Your Beauty is Worth Nothing", a gruff neighbor with a kind heart, and a Yugoslav immigrant girl who is also a refugee.

Hüseyin Tabak: Hüseyin Tabak (1981) is a Austrian director and screenwriter of Kurdish origin. Before graduating from the Vienna film school he worked in Hamburg as a volunteer in film production, later as an assistant director, and participated in the making of a number of feature films. He has shot short films on his own. During his studies he made the short drama Cheese (2008). His feature-length film debut was his thesis film Your Beauty Is Worth Nothing (Deine Schönheit ist nichts wert, 2012).
